    Designed for Transfer Students – Easy & Accessible

    The Yuma Branch Campus of NAU only offers upper-division courses for bachelor’s degrees. This means transfer students are 100% of NAU-Yuma’s undergraduate student body. Whether you have credits from a community college or other universities, you can easily transfer to NAU to complete your bachelor’s degree.

    Transferring from Arizona Western College

    AWC students not only enjoy a seamless transfer to NAU, they also benefit from attending courses and utilizing resources at some of the same locations as during their time at AWC. If you are in your last semester at Arizona Western College or have already graduated, begin your transfer process to NAU using the NAU Undergraduate Application. If you have more than two semesters left to complete at AWC and want to earn your bachelor's from NAU, learn more about the AWC2NAU Joint-Admission program listed below.

    Transferring from Imperial Valley College

    Many NAU-Yuma students transfer from Imperial Valley College to complete their bachelor’s degree. If you are a California resident who lives within 75 miles of the Arizona border, you can transfer to NAU-Yuma and pay special tuition rates through the Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) Program and the Good Neighbor Policy.

    AWC2NAU: A Joint-Admission Option With Arizona Western College

    The AWC2NAU joint-admission program is a great option for current Arizona Western College students. Apply to NAU through this program during your first few semesters at AWC and benefit from:


    • Dual Advising - Receive advising from NAU advisors while you’re still an AWC student to ensure you’re on track for NAU degree requirements.
    • More Student Resources – Enjoy immediate access to NAU’s online library services while at AWC, plus get your NAU email address and ID card, which can be used for discounts, athletic events and more.
    • Scholarships and No Application Fee – Eligible students who apply through the AWC2NAU program may qualify for a merit-based scholarship. Plus, there’s no application fee for the 2NAU application.



    NOTE: The AWC2NAU program is only available to students with at least two semesters remaining at Arizona Western College. Students ready to transfer immediately to NAU should apply through the standard NAU Undergraduate Application.

    Undergraduate Application Process

    Step 1: Complete the undergraduate application or 2NAU application and select Yuma as your intended campus. There is a nonrefundable $25 application fee for the undergraduate application.

    Step 2: As soon as possible, submit official transcripts from all other institutions attended to:

    Step 3: Depending on your program of interest, an additional application may be required. Check with your major or department.

    Start today! It may take six to eight weeks to receive confirmation of admission to NAU after your application, transcripts and other materials are received.

    Admission Requirements

    You will be offered admission if you have earned a minimum of 35 credits and the AGEC or the California IGETC with a cumulative GPA of 2.5; or earned an associate degree with a cumulative GPA of 2.0.

    You will be considered for admission if you have a 2.0 or higher overall college GPA (on a 4.0 scale) and at least 24 transferable academic college credits.
