Northern Arizona University partners with Arizona Western College in an initiative called AWC2NAU to make it easier for you to complete your bachelor's degree. You can be admitted to NAU while completing your associate's degree at AWC. NAU will provide you with guidance throughout the first two years and support you as you finish a four-year degree.
Benefits of the Program
By filling out the AWC2NAU application, you become part of a special alliance between Arizona Western College and Northern Arizona University. This joint program puts students on their way toward earning a bachelor's degree.
Throughout the program, you will benefit from the services and support offered by both institutions, including:
- Academic advising from both institutions from the time you are accepted into the program
- A Northern Arizona University student identification card
- AWC and NAU e-mail addresses
- Discounts throughout the community with your NAU ID card
- No application fee
All students applying for the joint program must be enrolled at Arizona Western College with the intention of earning a bachelor's degree. You must meet high school entrance requirements, complete the Arizona General Education Curriculum (AGEC), or earn an associate degree before you can transition entirely to Northern Arizona University. Upon acceptance to NAU, some programs of study will require a separate application and additional entrance requirements.
Attending a local community college for two or more years before transferring to NAU is the most affordable route to a four-year degree. In addition, NAU is prepared to support students through scholarship and other financial support. 2NAU students may be eligible for the Joint Admission Transfer Scholarship and/or a variety of other opportunities.
Speaking with an NAU representative is the best way to learn about how the 2NAU program can help you achieve your goals. In the meantime, you may also reivew our Information Guide.
